Between the Sky and the Earth - Grand Canyon Photoblog

  • Our first view of the magnificent Grand Canyon. (Annie Li)
  • Musicians Nika Zhang, Rachel Chen, and Maria Han pose, undaunted by the thousand-foot drop behind them. (Annie Li)
  • Dancers Miranda Zhou-Galati and Kaidi Wu perform magic tricks in front of an eager audience. (Annie Li)
  • We made a new friend! It even let us pet it - though I think that was somewhat frowned upon at a national park. (Annie Li)
  • The Grand Canyon provides fantastic photo ops - musicians Maria Han and Yi-Chin Lin. (Annie Li)
  • Dancer Miranda Zhou-Galati proves that 4000-something-foot canyons are no match for her superior jumping skills. (Annie Li)
  • Dancer Jiaqi Xiao warming up (yes, this is just a warm up) by the cliffs. (Annie Li)
  • Violinist Lingyu An. (Annie Li)
  • I was brave enough to venture to the edge, however not brave enough to take a vertical photo of the drop. (Annie Li)
  • Sound engineer Jacob Wallenberg contemplating the spectacular sights. (Annie Li)
  • Dancer Alison Chen and I. :) (Annie Li)
  • We're still debating what those jaywalkers are. My vote goes for elk. (Annie Li)
  • Our male dancers pose for a group shot. (Gary Liu)
  • After a treacherous journey of icy, roller coaster roads through the Rocky Mountains, we entered the varied terrain of the high Arizona desert. With an elevation of up to 7,000 feet (over 2,000 meters), the landscape of mountains, canyons, and forests is a photographer's utopia.

So you can imagine how thrilled I was to get a chance to explore Grand Canyon National Park on a break from our busy schedule. I hope you enjoy the fruits of our photographic labors!
